Bilkyrkogården Kyrkö Mosse

Kyrkö mosse is located outside Ryd in the municipality of Tingsryd in Småland and is known for the “Åke car scrap”. This place is also known as the “Car Cemetery”.

It is located on the outskirts of Ryd, along the 119 district road towards Hässleholm. The swamp car cemetery has a long history. Åke Danielsson, also known as “Åke på myren”, was born in 1914 and died on November 27, 2000; He was involved in the extraction of peat on a peat bog before he began scrapping cars in 1940. The company closed in the late 1980s, Danielsson left the bog in 1991, leaving many cars behind.
